Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained prominence in urban planning and public safety, offering new possibilities for developing safer and more accessible cities. This study aims to analyze the use of AI in these areas, assessing its potential to create more inclusive and secure urban spaces. The research was conducted through an integrative literature review, utilizing databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar. The results show that AI is widely applied in monitoring systems, traffic management, and crime prediction. However, its implementation requires ethical and legal considerations to ensure privacy and citizens' rights. The study concludes that for the development of smart cities, both technological efficiency and the inclusion and respect for human rights must be prioritized.
