Educational action on postpartum depression and baby blues for pregnant women at a UBS in Ji-Paraná-RO: an experience report
Abstract
According to Diniz and Nascimento (2020), postpartum depression and the baby blues are conditions that affect a significant number of women after giving birth, deeply impacting their emotional well-being and family dynamics. Postpartum depression is characterized by deep sadness, despair, intense melancholy and a feeling of demotivation and lack of hope, generally arising as a result of hormonal imbalance after childbirth. The baby blues, although similar in symptoms, are generally briefer and less intense, but can still compromise new mothers' quality of life.
